When he arrives to fight the Three Musketeers, they are confronted by Cardinal Richelieu’s men. D’Artagnan joins forces with the Musketeers to escape the Cardinal’s men, and they are ultimately drawn into international intrigue to foil Cardinal Richelieu's plot to overthrow the monarchy and crown himself king of France.
