Ray Ushikubo — Violin — A Cultural Assortment
Finnish titan Jean Sibelius’ ground-breaking Symphony No 5 sets the tone for the opening of the 2017-2018 Season of Diversity. Japanese guest artist and 17-year-old virtuoso Ray Ushikubo performs Polish composer Henryk Wieniawski’s lush Romantic Era Concerto for Violin No 2. American composer Adolphus Hailstork’s moving hymn interpretations in Three Spirituals for Orchestra and the vibrant Cubanesque rhythms of Mexican composer Arturo Márquez’s Danzon No 2 conclude this exciting kick off for the Fort Collins Symphony’s 68th year.
