The Lincoln Center announced its lineup for its upcoming 40th Anniversary Season today. Headlining the season on October 14 is Jay Leno, the legendary, everyman comedian that’s best known for dominating late-night TV from behind the desk of The Tonight Show.
As The Lincoln Center gets set to turn the big 4-0, it is also planning a celebration in conjunction with the Jay Leno show. Exactly 40 years later to the day of The Lincoln Center’s grand opening, they’re throwing a Fête de 40 that will include live entertainment, the unveiling of Odell’s Lincoln Center 40th Anniversary Ale, dinner and premium seating for Jay Leno.
The 2018/19 season also features four national Broadway tours including Finding Neverland, The Sound of Music, Something Rotten! and Chicago. The season will showcase amazing musicians including blues and soul legend Mavis Staples and jazz piano icon Chick Corea, as well as stunning displays of dance featuring the all-male, classical ballet parody troupe Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo and Push Physical Theatre’s spine-tingling version of Dracula. Family-friendly shows include the visually stunning and cirque-esque “B” The Underwater Bubble Show and the beloved and interactive Journey to Oz. Other great acts include the internet sensation Postmodern Jukebox, the world-renowned taiko group Kodo, and the hilarious Netflix sensation Mortified’s All Stars of Angst — featuring the best storytellers from the project’s 15-year history.
Season renewals and new season package sales begin today. People who purchase season packages will have first access to tickets for both the Fête de 40 and Jay Leno on August 1 at noon. Remaining tickets to the Fête de 40 and Jay Leno will go on sale to the general public on August 8 at noon.
