A Celebration of Mexican-American Heritage
Celebrate the Mexican-American experience with Grammy-Award winners Los Lobos and the stunning Ballet Folklorico Mexicano in this multi-media production of song, dance, music and film highlighting the many notable achievements and contributions of Mexican-Americans throughout US history.
With a sound that is influenced by rock & roll, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B, blues and traditional Spanish and Mexican music, Los Lobos has accumulated multiple Grammys and been nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They gained international fame with their chart-topping single La Bamba, which peaked at No. 1 on the US and UK charts. Since their humble beginnings in an East L.A. garage in 1973, they have consistently evolved artistically while never losing sight of their Chicano roots.
Joining Los Lobos in this multi-media spectacle is Ballet Folklorico Mexicano with their eye-popping traditional costumes and passionate performances of traditional Mexican dances. Carlos Moreno Samaniego, who is renowned for his unrelenting passion for researching, teaching, and performing the traditional dances of Mexico, founded the dance company in 1967. In 1980, the Mexican consulate in San Francisco named the Ballet Folklorico Mexicano the official ambassador for ongoing cultural activities with Mexico and the company has held this distinction for over 20 years.
Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate the Mexican-American experience with a vibrant display of culture, dance, music and traditions.
